Military Science Scholarships


The Military Science Scholarship Endowment Fund was founded in 1991 by Michael Rainbolt, LTC, USA, Retired. The fund awards scholarships to students enrolled in the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Program at Oregon State University and Western Oregon University.

Offered to cadets pursuing a commission in the U.S. Air Force studying Aerospace Studies at Oregon State University

2002 – Col. Arnold E. ‘Gene’ Bench Leadership Award and Memorial Scholarship
Presented to male or female Marine student who most epitomizes dedication, professionalism, selflessness and esprit de corps who may also have prior USMC service

2004 – Women in Air Force ROTC
Given to female Air Force cadet at Oregon State University or Western Oregon University; or may be given to a female Army cadet

2002 – Women in ROTC
Presented to female Army ROTC cadets at Oregon State University or Western Oregon University

2006 – Women in Naval Science ROTC
Presented to female Naval Science ROTC student at Oregon State University (Naval Science includes both Navy and Marine Corps option students
